About the Role
Join Hacksmith as an Assembly and Quality Control (QC) Technician and help turn fictional ideas into real, working prototypes! You’ll be hands-on assembling components, inspecting parts for precision, and ensuring every product meets our high standards. This role combines attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, creative environment.
What You’ll Do
Assembly
Following detailed specifications and blueprints to assemble products.
Using hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing equipment.
Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
May involve setting up and operating production equipment.
Packaging fully assembled products
Quality Control
Inspecting components, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
Comparing products against specifications and standards.
Using measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
Identifying defects and non-conformities.
Reporting and documenting inspection results.
May involve minor adjustments or repairs to products.
General
Following safety protocols and procedures.
Collaborating with team members to resolve issues.
Contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Potentially maintaining and calibrating equipment.
Keeping accurate records of production and quality data.
About You
The Assembly and QC personnel will be highly skilled professionals, possessing excellent attention to detail and strong mechanical aptitude. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to maintaining high standards. Key responsibilities include assembling components, conducting inspections, identifying defects, and contributing to process improvements.
What We’re Looking For
1+ years of Quality Control experience and/or some schooling
Good working knowledge of measuring tools and drawing
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently
Strong eye for detail and record keeping
Experience in assembly would be an asset, but not mandatory
Experience with CNC Operations would be an asset, but not mandatory

You must be legally allowed to work in Canada and be local or willing to relocate. This role is based in Cambridge, Ontario and telecommuting is not an option.
Salary Range:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour depending on experience.
