Focus of the Role We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented Investment Associate to support the team’s investment and portfolio management functions. This role offers direct exposure to high-net-worth client strategies, day-to-day trade execution, portfolio analysis, research, and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the portfolio management team in a fast-paced, client-centric environment. Key Responsibilities Review and monitor discretionary portfolios; assist in rebalancing and aligning with client mandates Execute trades across asset classes and ensure timely and accurate settlement Analyze investment opportunities and prepare summaries and recommendations Conduct ongoing macroeconomic, sector, and security-level research Prepare internal reports and reconcile daily activity; process corrections when necessary Monitor account activity, key dates, maturities, and dividend/cash flows Track model positions and provide insights on buy/sell alignment Maintain and update client data in CRM and internal tracking tools Respond to client inquiries and coordinate client/account documentation Support the team in client meetings, planning reviews, and ongoing engagement Liaise with accountants on tax reporting needs and other account servicing Perform ad-hoc and client-specific portfolio analysis as required Qualifications & Requirements CFA Level 1, or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) MBA (nice to have) Strong Excel and analytical skills Solid understanding of financial statements and valuation ratios Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Proactive, resourceful, and able to manage competing deadlines Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Why Join Us Work directly with a seasoned portfolio management team managing UHNW client portfolios Gain hands-on experience in investment analysis, trading, and client service Receive mentorship and guidance toward professional advancement (e.g., CFA, CFP) Play a meaningful role in an established and growing investment advisory practice Build your career within RBC Dominion Securities and RBC What’s in it for you?
