SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities for mechanical, boiler, and refrigeration systems across client sites. This role ensures timely service delivery, minimizes equipment downtime, and supports operational continuity while upholding safety and quality standards. The position involves scheduling and coordinating maintenance tasks, managing documentation, and responding to urgent repair needs. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, technical expertise in industrial mechanical systems, and a proactive approach to safety, problem-solving, and client service.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Coordination and Oversight:
Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance and corrective repairs for mechanical, refrigeration, boiler, and structural systems.
Prioritize and allocate resources to address urgent repair needs with minimal disruption to operations.
Support emergency response coordination and on-call service rotations.
Technical Assessment and Troubleshooting:
Attend client sites to assess and diagnose mechanical system issues.
Communicate findings, recommendations, and repair plans to clients clearly and professionally.
Monitor system performance, identify recurring issues, and recommend long-term solutions.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of service calls, work orders, inspections, and equipment logs.
Coordinate third-party inspections, certifications, and regulatory compliance activities.
Ensure maintenance activities meet industry standards and regulations, including ASME, CSA, and CWB codes.
Inventory and Resource Management:
Maintain adequate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
Oversee the safe and effective use of tools and equipment.
Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration:
Liaise with internal teams, external contractors, and clients to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and cost control.

Requirements
PREFERRED/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Red Seal or Journeyperson certification in Gas Fitting, HVAC, or other relevant trade.
Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License required.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, boilers, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment.
Experience in a mechanical or maintenance role within a manufacturing, industrial, or boiler environment.
Proficiency in scheduling tools, work order systems, and Microsoft Office 365.
Familiarity with ASME, CSA, and related codes.
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with direct client interaction experience preferred.
