and Tax to join our head office team.

YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Tax to lead all
aspects of tax strategy, compliance and reporting. This is a hands-on role that
requires a confident self-starter who can operate independently and take
ownership of the company’s tax function. Reporting directly to the CFO and the
VP, Corporate Reporting, the Director of Tax will play a key role in ensuring
compliance, optimization and long-term value creation.
This role is ideally suited to a detail-oriented professional who thrives
working independently and is passionate about maintaining accuracy and meeting
deadlines—without the high-pressure demands of constant tax planning or advisory
work.
DAY TO DAY
- Oversee all corporate income tax compliance for the parent company and its
subsidiaries, including federal and provincial filings.
- Prepare and review tax provisions in accordance with ASPE for quarterly and
annual financial statements.
- Support various finance and business initiatives, including M&A due diligence
and structuring.
- Lead correspondence with tax authorities, including audits, reassessments,
and inquiries.
- Identify opportunities for tax optimization while ensuring compliance and
minimizing risk.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial tax laws, including sales
tax and other indirect taxes
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax changes and assess impact on the
company.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and auditors as
needed.
- Maintain and continuously improve internal processes and controls related to
tax.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA designation required; In-depth Tax Certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive tax experience, including experience in a
corporate tax role within a large private or public company, or with a
national accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax law and ASPE tax provision
requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
effectively.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record of taking initiative and delivering results with minimal
supervision.
