THE POSITION
The SMT Line Operator will be responsible for producing high-quality products on the manufacturing line for our innovative lifesaving patented technology. As part of a skilled team, you will work together to meet daily targets. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to assemble components, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Experience with mechanical and electrical assemblies, as well as gasketing or sealing techniques, is an asset.
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING AN IMPACT
Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and specifications to meet strict quality standards.
Utilize knowledge of SMT to efficiently program and create printed circuit board assemblies for life saving products.
Perform tasks independently, maintaining productivity and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Contribute a strong work ethic and self-motivation, taking initiative and working with minimal supervision to drive results.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Being quality conscious and possess ability to meet production and quality standards.
Minimize machine downtime by studying work orders, engineering plans, orthographic drawings and part locations to drive efficiency.
Provide feedback to production planning based on machine runtime and planned maintenance to ensure on time completion of all work orders.
Ability to troubleshoot various pieces of equipment.
Able to perform operation, machine setup and product changeover.
Monitor scrap rates and make suggestions for improvement based on historical or on the job experience.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU REQUIRE
3-5 years of experience operating an SMT Line.
Knowledge of programming pick and place programs.
General understanding of machinery such as AOI, solder paste machines, pick and place machines and reflow ovens.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections and quality control.
Ability to add and subtract whole numbers, fractions and decimals using direct reading, gauges, rulers, scales and calipers.
Ability to incorporate downstream feedback to reduce errors.
Understanding and ability to interpret failure and scrap data.
Diploma in electronics technologist or equivalent experience is considered an asset.
