As a Kaitataki (Team Leader), you’ll lead a team of Kaiawhina (Support Workers) to provide high-quality, culturally grounded support to tangata whaiora (people we support). You’ll play a key role in managing day-to-day operations in one of our whare (homes), ensuring tangata are supported to live with dignity, independence and connection.
This is a hands-on leadership role – ideal for someone who can bring out the best in others and is open to learning and working in a kaupapa Maori environment.
What you’ll be doing:
Leading a team to deliver safe, respectful, and tangata-centred support
Coaching, developing and supporting Kaiawhina in their roles
Overseeing daily operations including staffing, health & safety, rosters and whare maintenance
Supporting the development and implementation of tangata plans, goals, and routines
Ensuring tikanga Maori values are upheld in every aspect of whare life
Building strong relationships with tangata, whanau and community partners
Ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and best practice

Full driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
Experience working with vulnerable adults or in mental health or disability is a bonus
NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (level 2 or above) is also a bonus, but not essential
