The Job
Have an active role in the daily operations of a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring timely and high-quality food preparation
Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications, maintaining consistency and high presentation standards
Manage inventory levels for your section, including ordering, restocking, and proper storage of ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organization of your section, ensuring equipment and surfaces meet all health and safety regulations
Work closely with other kitchen sections and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely dish delivery
Monitor food costs and portion control within your section to minimize waste and support budgetary targets
Strictly adhere to the Food Hygiene standards provided in training
Pay utmost attention to the Site Allergen Procedure and ensure its proper implementation
Conduct regular quality checks to guarantee dishes meet required standards before being served
Oversee your section during peak service periods, coordinating tasks and managing workflow efficiently
Mentor Commis Chefs to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications
Commit to completing all required online training within two weeks of the start date
Job Requirements
Experience working in a kitchen environment
Knowledge of kitchen preparation, diverse dishes, and cooking methods
Sound knowledge of authentic and substitute ingredients
Holder of a valid food handler license
Verbal and written communication skills in English
Eye for detail and a passion for food and innovation
Willingness to work on a shift basis in a busy kitchen environment
In possession of a valid Skills Pass
