GENERAL DESCRIPTION: While ensuring a culture of safety and personal excellence in every aspect of maintenance, the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all daily activities of the maintenance facility, the fleet and employees. The Supervisor will provide training to the mechanics, including coaching and documenting discipline, when necessary. The Supervisor fosters collaboration between and among personnel and creates a culture of Servant Leadership. The supervisor coaches the team to work effectively on company-owned vehicles, perform high-quality repairs and respond to driver VCRs. MUST BE LICENSED TRUCK MECHANIC • Work Address is 34321 Industrial Way, Abbotsford, BC V2S 7M6 • Shift: Monday to Friday, 10am Start • The incumbent will be developed to backfill the Maintenance Manager role in the future Main Accountabilities Review safety protocols and practices regularly with the maintenance team and maintenance manager to ensure adherence to the corporate safety program for all BC interior locations Reviews shop status and vehicle repairs in process Assigns repairs and tasks to technicians Assists mechanics in troubleshooting and diagnosis Constantly reviews vehicles that are in the shop for additional repairs or unsafe conditions Works with Maintenance Manager to monitor shop safety and housekeeping Meet with all BC interior Facility and Ops managers to set goal and expectations Assists in reviewing and/or road testing major or safety related repairs. Work with Maintenance Manager to manage related administrative matters for team, maintenance of employee records, records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, and recording of all information into RTA Maintenance Software, provide input for yearly budget for approval. Manage the Local Provincial PMP and the standards set by the PM program Qualifications: Required - 3 - 4 years of experience as a general mechanic working on large diesel vehicles Required - Red Seal Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic or Commercial Transport Repair. 2 - 3 years of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role supervising 5-10 other mechanics Thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, other Federal and Provincial regulations Must be able to communicate effectively, read, estimate, calculate, interpret, measure and document in writing BC CVI endorsement Class three (3) drivers license an asset Balance working on the floor and supervision 60% on the floor, 40% office What’s In It for You?
