What you’ll do:
The Meat Manager will perform a variety of responsibilities in the operation, ensuring alignment with our Core Values and Brand.
Understanding and following Westview Co-op’s Health and Safety Program and promoting a culture of safety including all Food Safety standards
Providing Exceptional Guest service to our Members and Guests and living by our Brand expectations through our “You’re at Home Here” motto
Lead the direction for Team Members in all areas including Performance Management, Talent Development, Engagement, Talent Acquisition, Orientation & On-boarding
Responsible for overall safe, effective operations of the Grocery Department. This includes but is not limited to scheduling, ensuring orders are placed, Brand Standards, etc.)
Providing exceptional member service
Maintaining staff levels by recruiting, selecting, orientating, developing personal growth opportunities and training employees
Maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment
Achieving results by communicating job expectations by planning, monitoring, and appraising performance through talent management including coaching and disciplining employees
Coordinating workloads and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards
Establishing strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operational information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes
Accomplishing financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing annual budgets; controlling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
Maintaining exceptional service by enforcing quality customer interactions, and solving problems
Pursuing continual learning by attending educational workshops available on the CRS hub and CRS courses and marketing meetings
We are ideally seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
Food Safe Certification
3 – 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in the retail food industry
Self motivated, reliable, responsible, friendly and hard working
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skills in performance management, coaching, supervision, quality management, results achievement, developing budgets, implementing standards, fostering teamwork and leading a team
Ability to handle pressure and provide feedback to employees in tough or uncomfortable situations
Commitment to cooperative values and principles
Sense of urgency, and customer first attitude
Physically capable of performing dynamic and static movements, repetitive motions, and repeated lifting of up to 50 lbs unassisted
Ability to work in cool and damp environments

The candidate must have the ability to work evenings, days and weekends for 40 hours per week.
