Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including overseeing food preparation and ensuring high-quality standards
Supervise and support kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality
Oversee daily food production, ensuring that all dishes are prepared and presented to specification
Ensure that all kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils are clean, organized, and in good working condition
Monitor and manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking ingredients and supplies as needed
Assist in menu planning and development, including creating and testing new recipes and dishes
Strict adherence to the Food Hygiene standards laid out in training
Commit the utmost attention to the Site Allergen Procedure
Maintain adherence to the health and safety program, including proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices
Handle any issues or complaints related to food quality or kitchen operations, escalating to the Head Chef when necessary
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service, including managing the timing and delivery of dishes
Support the Head Chef in managing kitchen costs and maintaining budgetary controls
Fill in for the Head Chef in their absence, taking responsibility for kitchen operations and staff management
Commit to completion of online training within 2 weeks of start date
Jobs Requirements
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Mediterranean cuisine
Great attention to detail
Ability to work in a high-pressure and fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills
Flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays
