IMCO is looking for a highly motivated Lead Business Systems Consultant, IT Investment Applications to join our team! As a key member of our IT Investment Applications team, the Lead Business Systems Consultant will work as trusted partner with our business stakeholders in Investment Management (Front Office). This role is responsible for understanding organizational objectives, conducting analysis, eliciting business, and systems requirements, designing specifications, facilitating testing, implementing solutions, and supporting production operations. The overall responsibility of the position is to deliver value-added solutions while ensuring adherence to IMCO’s procedures and supportability of all investment applications. As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For: Act as primary liaison and technical advisor to investment management teams across all asset classes Lead planning and direct analysis discussion with business stakeholders to ensure full understanding of organizational objectives and priorities Provide guidance and carry-out business analysis, and translate into technical specifications and solutions Partner with all stakeholders, including investment management, development, infrastructure, and third-party vendors, to develop solutions to support investment strategies and corporate objectives Oversee and lead detail process mapping, and document findings as related to investment operations Contribute to business cases for systems implementations, and participate in RFP and due diligence processes Manage enhancements of investment operations and workflows including downstream processing and investment reporting Lead implementation of new investment systems solutions to support all front office functions, including all public markets asset classes, total portfolio management and public markets alternatives Engage technology architects and other IT partners to determine dependency and impact to the overall investment systems architecture Direct design and build better access to data for total portfolio analytics and management capabilities Support portfolio managers, traders and analysts on trade origination, generation, and execution as part of investment workflow Lead investment applications implementations, enhancements, and systems upgrades Manage, design and execute the testing process to ensure visibility, traceability, and effective execution to deliver high quality solutions Investigate root causes when issues arise, recommend changes, oversee implementation, and maintain accurate documentation Provide mentorship and coaching to junior members of the team Disseminate knowledge and information with other team members in collaborative manner Conduct risk-benefits analysis in clear technical and non-technical language Think creatively to design solutions with a forward-thinking approach to best accommodate future opportunities in IMCO’s growing environment Ensure adherence to IMCO’s processes and procedures, and the overall supportability of all solutions with proper documentation and training Strive to improve environment stability by working with others to set up and maintain production configurations Continuously elevate service levels with all business users Monitor operational risk and systems performance management in all initiatives Represent IT team to plan and execute DR/BCP What Do You Need To Succeed? Direct working experience in front office operations across different asset classes and teams Prior leadership role in other investment IT organization Comprehensive knowledge of internal and external investment workflows and trading lifecycle Multiple implementation experience of public markets investment systems such as portfolio management and analytical systems, order management systems, and research platforms, including total portfolio view and analytics by asset class and strategy Experience to support passive hedging, dynamic FX, active return products, Repos and OTC instruments Familiar with pre- and post-trade compliance as part of trade workflow Practical knowledge of total portfolio management, active asset allocations and liquidity management Strong experience in data aggregation from multiple sources and investment reporting Demonstrated ability to play multiple hands-on roles such as project management, requirement analysis, solution design and visioning, planning, testing, and solutions implementation Experience with systems and data integration with book of record applications and custody platforms Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of ten years of experience in the asset management or investment industry Knowledge of systems development lifecycles including planning, requirement, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and post-implementation activities in agile and waterfall approaches Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate comfortably with both business and technical teams Domain knowledge in IT service management such as incident management, change management, configuration management and operations management Prior involvement with third-party vendors, internal and external operational audits CFA, CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSC, Lean and/or Six Sigma, or PMP designation is preferred Experience with Bloomberg trading platforms, Managed Account Platforms, Eagle (Data Management, Performance and Accounting Solutions), MSCI BarraOne, Omega Point, RiskMetrics, RiskManager, Dynamo, FINCAD, MATLAB, SQL, Python, Databricks and Snowflake What IMCO Can Offer You: We thrive on the challenge to be our best, to deliver an unparalleled employee experience and to work as one team to continuously improve the management of broader public-sector investment funds.
