What you will do You will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership, and overall administration of plant operations overseeing staffing and production while effectively and efficiently overseeing the development and direction of the production team to drive the growth of production, revenue, and the quality of goods produced in the facility. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, vendors, department managers and ensuring the integration of strategic plans within the plant facilities. How you will do it Lead and monitor plant performance with daily reporting against goals to ensure that progress is being made and that corrective action is taken if necessary. Hold daily production meetings and meet regularly with department heads/business unit leaders; facilitate resolution of issues/problems between business units and/or departments. Responsible for appropriate shift configurations, labor allocation, and staffing levels to meet production targets of the facility with production efficiency drive to 85% or greater. Recruit and hire staff as well as handle terminations and performance management. Responsible for the plant and facility operations such as security, access control, fire prevention and protection, preventative maintenance, and janitorial services. Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve performance. Promote and enforce a culture of safety and well-being for all employees. Accountable to work with EH&S Specialist to ensure we are OH&S compliant across all functions of the plant. Be compliant with all EHSIS reporting requirements 24/7/14 for the plant. Lead and participate in Zero Harm Culture program and initiatives. Manage the morale in the facility by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers, and customers by using and following our Core Values. Enhance and develop policies, procedures, and service systems to meet the goals of the facility. Direct, assist, participate and follow Lean Manufacturing principles across the plant. Lead and participate in Zero Defect Culture program and initiatives. DPU reduction by product and production line. Participate, review, and approve plans for the control of planned output, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness, human resources, and budget planning. Responsible for plant housekeeping and driving 5-S implementation and mindset. Analyze and report on the plant’s daily, monthly, and annual key performance indicators and industry trends to determine the operational activities of the company and ensure accountable to optimum performance. Implement strategies around improving the financial performance of the department. Collaborate and participate on execution of production schedule and resolve any obstacles to on time delivery. Monitor daily production targets and revise production plans when targets are off track to ensure the plant meets the monthly production target of units for on time delivery and financial goals. Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures with a high level of professionalism. Perform all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls and Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code. Some on call and after-hours duties are required. Other duties as required.
