IAMGOLD is seeking a Manager, External & Regulatory Affairs to champion IAMGOLD’s strategic priorities in Quebec. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our projects by building strong relationships with government, Indigenous communities and other key stakeholders.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and executing strategies that influence public policy and regulatory outcomes aligned with IAMGOLD’s operations and development projects in Quebec. You will lead the coordination of project approval processes, including regulatory submissions and communications with government authorities, and serve as a key liaison between IAMGOLD and external stakeholders.
You will monitor and analyze legislative developments and represent IAMGOLD in industry associations. Your insights will guide senior leadership on political and regulatory risks and opportunities, while your collaboration with internal teams will ensure alignment between policy positions and business objectives.
Beyond regulatory affairs, you will play an essential role in community and Indigenous engagement. You’ll support the development of engagement strategies, assist with community events, and contribute to future negotiations with Indigenous communities. You will also help drive sustainability performance by supporting the development of metrics and reporting frameworks for our Quebec projects.
What You Need to Succeed
To excel in this role, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in political science, social sciences, sustainability, or a related field, along with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant experience, ideally including work on mining project approvals in Quebec. Bilingualism in French and English is essential, as is a strong understanding of Quebec’s legislative and regulatory landscape.
You’ll bring excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, along with a strategic mindset and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
