As an Assembly Welder, you are responsible for welding metal components together to form a final product that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, a combination of a strong understanding of welding techniques and an eye for detail to produce the highest quality welds.
Location: 1556 Industrial Road, Cambridge, ON
Dedicated Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday - Friday
Job Duties:
Read and follow technical drawings and blueprints to understand the welding requirements for each product
Ensure proper materials are selected for each job to weld together metal components
Follow safety protocols and wear the prescribed personal protective equipment to prevent injuries
Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib), to complete large welding jobs
Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
Ensure welding machines are properly calibrated
Repair and rework welds as needed
Communicate with supervisors to ensure production schedules are met
Skills & Experience:
Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
Required to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawing specifications, procedures, and work instructions
Assembly welding tasks require collaboration with team members, effective communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to make sound decisions when working on projects that involve multiple team members
Physical requirements include standing, climbing, kneeling, and bending while welding
Extreme temperature exposure to weather changes (heat)
Qualifications:
Knowledge of fabrication processes including fitting with the assistance of a fixture and welding.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
