The Turbocharging Service Technician is responsible for all aspects of the repair, evaluation, installation and maintenance of turbochargers and their components at customer job sites and in Accelleron workshops. Your responsibilities: The following responsibilities indicate some of the key elements of this role, but should not be considered as a complete definition, as there will be tasks that are requested and that are deemed to be reasonably expected as part of this role: Basic knowledge of turbocharger and engine principles, product range and repair techniques with ability to troubleshoot and provide information for investigation reports and operational inspections, to assist customers improve the efficiency and operation of their product. Assembly and disassembly of mechanical components or turbocharger components for the purpose of repair, maintenance and installation, in the workshop or at customer's job site, according to all relevant Accelleron working instructions and quality standards. Skilled in the use of metric and standard measuring tools, such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, gauges etc. with highest degrees of accuracy. Cleaning turbocharger components to Accelleron standards, in the workshop or on customer site, using wet and dry cleaning processes (manual & semi-automatic parts washers and sandblast equipment) and hand/power tools. Operation of rotating machinery, such as dynamic balancing machines, lathes, column press drill correctly and in a safe manner, working with highest degrees of accuracy. Observes all quality aspects and discipline for job execution, through standard presentation of components following service /repair, including final in-house inspection and documentation according to company guidelines/regulations, including the accurate and timely completion of service reports, evaluations, parts requests etc. Reviews and evaluates shop and service working practices, suggest and implement corrective actions where necessary to improve the efficiency of the service performance level. Team player in a small team of service technicians, mechanics, service coordinators, fitters and/or ship's crew organizing the work on the job site or in the workshop, to ensure that work is completed on time and to all Accelleron quality and safety requirements. Ability to read and understand working instructions and technical drawings written in English and to communicate efficiently and effectively in a professional manner, verbal or written, whilst understanding the importance of protecting the company's proprietary information and intellectual property rights. On 24-hour call and prepared to travel to respond to service calls from our customers anywhere in Canada and as directed by company management. Available to travel up to 30% of working time, including to the USA and Mexico on occasion. Collaborates in maintaining controls of all special turbocharger and hand tooling, lifting gear and safety equipment, to ensure that they are available and in good order. Acts as company's representative, working to the company Code of Conduct and in an ethical manner, to grow and expand business activities and strives to satisfy and exceed customer's needs and expectations. Your background: Basic qualifications: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license. . High School Diploma and 10 years of mechanical experience OR College degree (e.g. Marine Engineering Technology) and 5 years of mechanical experience. Verbal and written proficiency in English. Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint etc. Additional qualifications: Experience with rotating machinery, diesel engines, gas engines; outboard motors; car/truck engines, hydraulic service, forklift service or air compressors etc. Experience with safe rigging and lifting operations, using overhead cranes and chain falls. Experience with forklift driving. Basic knowledge and experience with Turbochargers. Knowledge of close tolerances, blueprint readings and metric measurements. Ability to write technical reports in English. Ability to travel to the USA and Europe for training courses.
