About the Position:
Currently, Technica is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our growing team as a 310S Automotive Technician in Mine Development. There is currently one (1) open position in Timmins, Ontario to support our long-term, development project. We are actively seeking to fill this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on light-duty underground vehicles (e.g., personnel carriers, utility trucks, service vehicles) in mining conditions
Conduct pre-use inspections and routine servicing of fleet vehicles to ensure safe operation underground
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using scan tools and onboard diagnostics
Complete repairs on braking systems, suspension, drivetrains, lighting, HVAC, and electrical systems under mining safety standards
Perform test drives and function checks underground to validate repairs
Accurately document all work performed in maintenance systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal reporting requirements
Order and track parts and supplies to minimize repair time and support ongoing fleet availability
Coordinate with underground supervisors, maintenance planners, and other trades to align repair work with operational needs
Maintain clean and safe work areas in underground shops or field locations
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with provincial trade regulations, mining safety standards, and company policies
Qualifications:
Licensed 310S Automotive Service Technician
Surface Common Core or equivalent provincial designation is preferred
Minimum of two (2) years' underground experience is preferred
Strong diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment
Strong technical aptitude to use digital platforms used for work orders, email, etc.
High level of self-motivation and autonomy
Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
Committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
Familiar with CAT, Epiroc, and/or MacLean equipment is preferred
