Qualifications
Education
Associate's Degree Applied Science Req Or
Other completion of accredited program in cardiovascular technology Must obtain RCIS within 6 months of hire Req Or
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent 2 Years work experience in invasive cardiology Req
Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Req
Experience
2 Year vascular or cardiac angiography Pref or
2 Years required with high school diploma Req
Cath Lab experience strongly preferred
Licenses and Certifications
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Req And
GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist If ARRT Only Upon Hire Pref Or
RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Obtain within 6 months if graduate from Cardiovascular Accredited Program Upon Hire Req And
LMRT - Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist If RCIS Only Upon Hire Pref Or
RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist For Electrophysiology Labs (EP) Only Upon Hire Req And
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req And
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req And
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
Here’s What You’ll Do
Patient Care
Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures
Imaging Procedures, Quality and Processing
Adjusts technique parameters appropriately for age related factors
Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
Troubleshoots and properly documents equipment malfunction
Maintains equipment and room to sanitary standards
