Job Description: The Detox Nurse has responsibility for providing nursing care to clients participating in the Brief and Social Detox Programs in the Saskatoon Heath Region. The incumbent must be familiar with current drugs of abuse and withdrawal management strategies as well as provincial resources available to assist in identifying the most appropriate care plan for clients. The incumbent is responsible to triage and provide nursing support to clients with acute medical, psychiatric and detoxification issues. The Detox Nurse will facilitate the development and monitor compliance of Withdrawal Management, Medication Management and Medical Protocols in the Brief and Social Detox Program. The incumbent will develop strong service relationships with the attending physician(s), team members, and other related service partners in the Saskatoon Health Region and throughout the province.

Experience
3 years of nursing experience, one of which needs to have been working with vulnerable populations as it pertains to mental health and/or addiction services
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Memberships
College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Other Education and Training
Experience ensuring compliance with addiction related medical protocols an asset
Nursing diploma is acceptable
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Level C Certificate (CPR)
