Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the overall site and facility maintenance of the Biigtigong Nishnaabeg Administration, Social Services, Sustainable Development, Education, Health Center and emergency services buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Worker shall:
Complete daily/weekly/monthly/semi-annual/annual compliance checks of building/site systems as required
Perform minor repairs to building and assets
Perform ground maintenance and upkeep of applicable buildings
Assist in lifting/moving/assemble furniture and equipment to and from and within buildings
Maintain proper storage and inventory of equipment/machinery at various scheduled times
Communicate and receive work orders that need to be resolved with outside service people/trades people.
Perform winter maintenance of sidewalks, steps and parking lots
Tow trailers and equipment to other work sites
Set up land-based equipment when off-site
Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, painting and maintenance as it arises
Any other duty as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent or working toward an OSSD
Certification related to operation of equipment used is an asset
Previous working experience in maintenance
Must have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
Necessary Knowledge:
Able to trouble shoot maintenance issues with minimal supervision
Able to read building prints, drawings and schematics
Able to learn the building management system
Computer skills; Microsoft, Email, Internet, and online collaboration tools

Working Conditions:
Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials
Requires stopping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, reaching, climbing and balancing
Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors year-round
Some work sites include loud noise, dust, fumes and odors
Working at heights
Ability to lift 50lbs
