Operator Weir ESCO Port Hope, ON Onsite Rotating Shift Full Time – Up to 6 Month Contract Purpose of Role: Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the metal casting process. This role involves preparing molds, handling molten metal, monitoring temperatures, and ensuring the quality of finished products. Key Responsibilities: Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture Operate and maintain foundry machinery Prepare molds using sand for casting metal components Melt and pour molten metal into molds, ensuring proper temperature and composition Verify fit accuracy by correctly using gauges Utilize hoist to manipulate castings to the proper position for fitting/gauging Keeping track of the part identification Correctly fill out shift pitch board to include current pitch and reasons if pitch is missed Keep work station in good order for the next shift/operator Maintain accurate production records and report any issues or faults Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Prior experience in manufacturing environment preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety Ability to work with others Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours Working Conditions: Exposure to high temperatures, noise, and dust Use of personal protective equipment Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
