What's SELECT?
Founded in 2022, SELECT was born out of our desire for a product to find opportunities to optimize and make managing cloud data costs easier. After a period of research and consultation with other practitioners, we learned we weren't alone in wanting such a thing, so we set about building SELECT. Skipping forward to today, SELECT has over 100 customers, with a product built by a super-motivated, lean team talking to and shipping new features for our customers every single week.
The Role
We're seeking a Founding Product Designer to take the user experience of SELECT to the next level. This role is perfect for someone who is looking to build and own our entire design system, from ideation to designs, and preferably some implementation too.
We’re firm believers that great design will be a key ingredient to our success. We’re very inspired by the design of Linear and Attio to name two.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with the founders and engineering team to conceptualize and implement user-centric designs.
Understand our product and vision at a deep level, crafting interfaces that don't just work but are a delight to use.
Develop and maintain design systems that promote consistency and scalability.
This role is 80% ideation and development of our SaaS design system in code, with the other 20% on branding and other materials such as marketing designs and website.

Who We're Looking For
Design Expertise: Strong understanding of design principles, established patterns, user experience, and visual aesthetics. Experience with B2B SaaS, and design of a technical product (e.g. data visualisation, dev tooling)
Prototyping Skills: Ability to create designs using tools like Figma, Sketch, or similar. If you prefer to do your prototyping in real code, that's fine too!
Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication skills and a self-managing approach.
Problem-Solving Abilities: A knack for taking design problems and finding solutions that are intuitive and reduce complexity.

Application process
The process is fully remote and all communication will happen over email or via video chat. Once you've submitted your application, the team will review your submission for suitability, and if it is suitable, invite you to a short screening interview over video call.
If you pass the screen you will be asked to complete a technical interview, with a live implementation exercise and discussion of previous projects you've worked on.
