JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Procurement, Global Freight is responsible for leading Livingston’s Global Freight procurement strategy across air, ocean, and road modes. This includes carrier and co-loader selection, rate negotiation, capacity planning, partner performance management, and developing strategic sourcing initiatives that support growth, margin improvement, and service reliability.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in freight procurement, excels in both carrier relationship management and data-driven cost optimization, and is comfortable navigating the complexities of a multi-market, asset-light forwarding network.
This role supports Livingston’s commercial and financial objectives through procurement-led cost savings, performance reliability, and competitive service offerings.
Scope includes procurement strategy execution across key regions such as North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and lead Livingston’s freight procurement strategy across all modes (air, ocean, truckload/LTL).
Align procurement decisions with commercial goals, growth priorities, and customer solution design.
Oversee and manage procurement processes including RFQs, spot rate execution, and contract management.
Identify, select, and manage strategic carrier and NVOCC partnerships globally.
Maintain a robust partner portfolio that balances competitive pricing, service quality, and capacity commitments.
Negotiate carrier agreements that include service level expectations, KPIs, and volume targets.
Drive cost savings and improved profit margins through strategic sourcing, benchmarking, and lane-level optimization.
Analyze freight spend, carrier performance, and customer profitability to inform procurement decisions.
Work closely with Finance to ensure freight costs are accurately forecasted, tracked, and reported.
Utilize procurement analytics tools and Excel modeling to support data-driven decision-making.
Partner with Sales, Solutions Design, and Operations to support client bids, major implementations, and account expansions.
Collaborate with Customs Brokerage, Trade Consulting, and IT to drive bundled solutions and system integration.
Support CargoWise procurement module implementation and data integrity efforts.
Lead and mentor management team, providing development and growth aligned with Livingston values.
Ensure that sourcing strategies consider environmental sustainability, DEI, and Livingston’s corporate responsibility objectives.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge of market dynamics, trade lanes, and freight pricing mechanisms.
Strong communication, leadership, and change management skills.
Familiarity with procurement technology, including TMS platforms (e.g., CargoWise) and Excel-based scenario modeling.
