Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Centralized Services and in primary collaboration with the Program Teams of Crisis Response Services (CRS) and RAAM, as well as with mental health and addictions community programs as applicable, the incumbent is responsible for:
Educational program development for:
Nursing staff including R.N.s, L.P.N.s, R.P.N.s.
Support staff including U.A.s, N.A.s, U.C.s and/or applicable technicians.
Teaching and learning activities.
Nursing practice standards.
Patient education development.
Professional and Self Development.
Allied Health staff.
Note: The priority and percentages of each of the above functions will vary throughout the year and possibly from year to year.
Position will primarily support crisis response services and rapid access to addiction medicine, with support to other community programs as required.
Experience
Must have a minimum of four years recent related nursing experience with demonstrated competency in a defined area of clinical nursing practice.
Previous experience in teaching, education and program development and evaluation is preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SPECIAL TRAINING:
Certificate or certification in a related specialty area preferred.
Note: In certain circumstances, certification as an instructor in a specialty training course (e.g. ACLS, PALS, BLS, NCI, etc.) may be stated as a requirement.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Must be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.).
Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
CPR at the Health Care Provider Level required.
Qualifications and Skills
Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.

Evidence of knowledge of the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.

Physical Requirements
Must have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle for multi-site training.
