Research Assistant, Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy
The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) and the Canadian Centre for the Study of Co-operatives is recruiting a Graduate Research Assistant to work in close collaboration with Drs. Marc-Andre Pigeon (Assistant Professor) and Dionne Pohler (Adjunct Professor), as well as doctoral student Dean Shamess. The candidate will manage a research project around an evaluation of Co-operatives First, a non-profit devoted to co-operative education and development. Duties include organizing meetings, liaising with Co-operatives First, collecting data, conducting interviews, writing up findings, and other associated duties as assigned. The general location of work will be the Diefenbaker Building where JSGS is located. Some remote work is possible.
Required Number of Hours: Casual, up to 20 hours per week
Duration of Employment: October 16, 2025, up to October 15, 2026
Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a social science discipline (i.e., political science, history, economics, sociology).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of quantitative research methods
- Experience conducting interviews and other methods of data collection
- Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively
