Detailed OverviewSupporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
Reporting to the Directors, Clinical Quality & Patient Safety, the Coordinator, CQPS Education & Strategic Initiatives is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the regional quality improvement & patient safety (QIPS) education & strategic initiatives. Provides technical and administrative support to the Directors and various stakeholders by coordinating key activities related to the planning and implementation of QIPS education initiatives. Evaluates procedures, makes recommendations and implements methods to improve customer service and continuous improvement of the QIPS education and strategic initiatives in alignment with the CQPS strategic priorities.
Responsibilities - Coordinates key activities related to the planning and implementation of QIPS education and strategic initiatives
- Coordinates and oversees the development and maintenance of the CQPS QIPS education and strategic initiatives repository. Consults with internal stakeholders regarding appropriate online educational programs to meet designated program needs/demands consistent with staff education.
- Functions as the central point of contact for the CQPS Collaborative and other large QIPS education and strategic initiatives; conveys and exchanges information for specific QIPS education initiatives/programs; ensures information is current and relevant.
- Participates in establishing and developing appropriate systems, standards, processes, procedures and instructions to support the effectiveness of the QIPS education and strategic initiatives operations. Organizes workflow, determines priorities, resolves day-to-day problems and evaluates operating procedures.
- Provides direction to assigned staff and students, by coordinating work assignments, providing training and support, and contributing to performance appraisals as requested by leader(s).
- Plans and works with program, medical staff and employees to promote engagement in QIPS education and strategic initiatives.
- Analyzes and evaluates utilization of QIPS education; prepares related reports, including the development of recommendations to enhance services and operations for the QIPS education.
- Monitors expenditures and maintains the QIPS education & strategic initiatives budget, including analyzing, reconciling, recommending budget changes, projecting requirements and preparing budget submissions.
- Researches, recommends and manages approved internal & external contracts for venues and catering for sessions related to QIPS education and strategic initiatives.
- Gathers and compiles information and statistical data on QIPS education and strategic initiatives; researches, organizes and summarizes information for reports.
- Researches and consults with various internal and external sources regarding best practices as it relates to QIPS education and strategic initiatives; develops suggestions/recommendations and forwards to appropriate sources/stakeholder.
- Evaluates procedures and systems and develops/revises processes to improve general program administration. Communicates changes to appropriate stakeholders.
- Provides support to the Directors by coordinating workflow for assigned projects. Develops and implements new work methods and procedures; identifies problems, develops alternative solutions and implements changes. Collects, collates and summarizes resource material required for assigned initiatives.
- Develops and maintains administrative processes for QIPS education and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinates and schedules appointments and meetings, as directed; determines requirements and ensures all necessary support documentation is available and arrangements are completed; prepares agendas, records meeting notes; monitors task list and follows up on action items as required.
QualificationsGraduation from a recognized diploma program in business administration or related field, plus three (3) years' recent, related experience in a business or health care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
