Your opportunity:
Working under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Housing Services and reporting to the Team Lead Housing Services, the Systems and Data Management Officer will provide systems support for the StarRez tricampus residence management system, including data management, user training, service requests, and reporting for residences on all three campuses. The Officer, working within a team, will configure system modules, assign roles and permissions, collect, delete and update data, develop reports, and provide departmental reporting. The Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the StarRez system, responding to user issues/bugs and system incidents, supporting version upgrades and other implementations, as well as training new users on the system. The Officer, working with the Team Lead, will liaise with U of T IT divisions and StarRez as necessary, and consult with residence partners to understand their requirements and reporting needs, determine the appropriate modules and configuration or reports required. The incumbent will develop system documentation, training modules and provide system demos. The Officer will backfill for the Team Lead or Communications Officer as required, and update content on the system.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a database (StarRez, internal databases, etc.)
- Configuring system features and applications
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Testing new software configurations.
- Facilitating focus group meetings with clients to determine needs
- Identifying and recommending the development of new training workshops and/or resources
- Training end-users on procedures and the use of supported IT systems. Drafting and editing training content.
- Serving as a resource on specific issues to a group of specialists
- Probing for information to determine requirements for ad hoc data requests and reports
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum three years related experience. Previous experience training co-workers on complex systems.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining complex administrative and database systems.
- Experience manipulating and analyzing data, developing info graphics, and reports required.
- Demonstrated experience managing large complex projects involving technology.
- Experience working with relational databases, user experience, and/or logic trees.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (must be able to set-up templates and macros in Word and Excel, set-up Excel spreadsheets including formulas, and preparing sophisticated PowerPoint presentations).
- Advanced skills in StarRez and other database software suchas Microsoft Access, Tableau and Cognos Cubes.
- Intermediate knowledge and experience using SQL.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
- Must be flexible and adaptable with a high level of initiative and results orientation.
- Demonstrated integrity, professional maturity, judgment, tact, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail, with a proactive solution focus.
Assets (Nonessential):
- Experience with user experience.
- Experience with Service Desk/work order ticketing software.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 -- $81,312. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $103,986. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
