Course Description: The MPP Policy Case Studies are one-credit slot courses that are taught over one week (3 hours per day for five days) in the fall, winter and summer terms. Each course centers on a specific policy issue. Selected case studies in public policy develop the complete narrative arc of a specific policy and are based on the experience of the instructor/policy practitioner. These courses are designed to bridge theory with practice by introducing students to the various elements of the policy process that can only be understood by practitioners who were involved in the policy’s development. Those interested in teaching a policy case study must include with their application a proposal for a case study that centers on a specific policy issue in which they are or were closely involved.
