The Opportunity: The mission of the Production Assistant is to ensure all production departments are well-supported and able to maintain a high level of output. Based at our Kelowna facility on Stremel Road, you will play an integral role in a production team focused on injection moulding and printing sustainable phone cases. In this position, you'll need a keen eye for detail, a passion for working with your hands, an eagerness to learn new skills, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
The Responsibilities:
Stage raw materials for injection molding
Operate raw material dryers for injection molding
Blend raw materials for injection molding
Maintain accurate records of material usage
Regrind raw materials accurately and safely
Maintain and clean the grinder
Sort, organize, and re-stock WIP inventory shelves
Stage WIP inventory for printing
Remove defective products from the production floor
Keep defective products organized
Enter inventory data for WIP and finished goods
Sweep, organize supplies, and dispose of garbage
Assist with monthly inventory counts
Maintain a safe and clean workspace
Assist team members as needed
Ensure the safe operation of all equipment and follow all safety protocols
Collaborate with peers and management to improve facility operations and promote a teamwork-focused environment
Work with colleagues and supervisors to enhance facility operations and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
Qualifications & Skills:
Mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach to tasks
Capable of performing repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy
Quick to learn new procedures and contribute to process improvements
Effective both independently and in collaborative team settings
Thrives in fast-paced environments with frequently changing priorities
Strong commitment to quality, safety, and clear communication
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of pride in workmanship
Enthusiastic team player dedicated to green practices and sustainability
Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for 8-hour shifts
Available 5 days a week - Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
