Private Chef/House Manager Toronto, ON
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Private Chef/House Manager for a semi-formal residence in Toronto. The successful applicant will be required to plan and prepare meals, plus some house management tasks. The typical work hours are 10am – 6pm, Monday through Friday. Applicants should be flexible with their schedules and be available for some evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a full-time, live-out position with frequent summer travel required to a cottage property. Hours and schedule during cottage season will be discussed ahead of the upcoming season. 
Candidate Profile:
You are a well-rounded private chef who enjoys keeping a clean and very well-organized work environment. You have a strong understanding of household hygiene and cleaning best practices. You have a ‘do what it takes attitude’ and have a calm and collected approach when things don’t go as planned. You can wear a number of different hats and are an efficient manager. 
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily cooking required; must have knowledge of a variety of different cuisines, mainly healthy and nutritious meals
Inventory management of the kitchen and residence including cleaning products and toiletries
Menu planning, track and keep records of menus to avoid repetition of meals
Driving clients to events, appointments etc
Grocery shopping
Management of household staff, vendors, and contractors
Take the lead in creating household schedules, manuals, and operational documentation
Coordinate and complete deep clean projects with the housekeeper while the principals are travelling
Ensure household mechanical systems, HVAC plumbing, equipment, and fixtures are maintained
Schedule and supervise trades and contractors as needed
Daily walkthroughs of residence, ensuring security measures and protocols are in place and the property is secure at all times
Errands and other tasks as needed
Applicant Qualities:
Excellent English communication skills and professional personal presentation
Must maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundaries
A valid, clean Ontario driver’s license (class G) is required; consistent access to a vehicle is required
A degree or diploma from an accredited culinary institution is an asset
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
