Hiring Unit: Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences Understanding Planet Earth, EPSC 201 (3 credits) Course description: Teaches students about Earth's origin, its place in the solar system, its internal structure, rocks and minerals, the formation of metal and fossil fuel deposits, and the extinction of dinosaurs. It reveals the impact of the volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and mountain chains on Earth's past, present and future and explores the origin of 125 million-year-old Mount Royal. Job Description: Assessment includes quizzes and a 3-hour final examination. You will be responsible for teaching, course management, creating exam materials, some grading, and managing teaching assistants (TAs). The number of TAs is linked to the enrollment, which is forecast to be 150-180 students. Class lectures are 3 hours a week for 13 weeks per term. (05-Jan-2026 to 14-Apr-2026).
