Hamilton Vets is a thriving small animal clinic, proudly supporting our community with high-quality veterinary care. Alongside our modern facilities, we also operate a popular boarding cattery.
We’ve recently invested in new X-ray and dental machines, and our team has the advantage of being based in the same building as the Veterinary Referral Services
clinic — providing access to specialist expertise and collaboration when needed.
As part of Franklin Vets, you’ll also be backed by a well-established support office covering HR, finance, marketing, IT And Inventory so you can focus on leadership and clinical excellence.
The Role
As Head Nurse, you’ll provide strong leadership to our 6 veterinary nurses, while working closely with our team of veterinarians and offering guidance and support to our customer service team of 3. This is a leadership-focused role with a balance of hands-on clinical work and people management.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading, mentoring, and developing the nursing team
Supporting and guiding the customer service team
Rostering, training, and performance management
Maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and client service
Working alongside the Branch Manager and vets to ensure smooth clinic operations
Driving a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture
Participating in the weekend roster (1 in 6)
What We’re Looking For
A qualified veterinary nurse (Diploma or Bachelors)
Proven experience in a leadership or head nurse role within a veterinary clinic
Strong communication and organisational skills
A confident, proactive leader who enjoys supporting and developing people
Someone who thrives in a busy, progressive clinical environment
