Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in mechanical engineering and design, particularly within the midstream energy, industrial, or mining sectors. The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of experience and a proven ability to contribute effectively within a multi-disciplinary project team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership in the development of conceptual layouts, engineering drawings, and P&IDs.
Design and analyze mechanical systems including pressure vessels, pumps, valves, piping systems, and mechanical equipment packages.
Assist in the creation of mechanical component lists and support materials selection.
Prepare RFQ (Request for Quotation) packages and review vendor documentation.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, designers, and clients to develop practical and efficient design solutions.
Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
Support field personnel with troubleshooting and technical expertise.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes and standards.
Qualifications
Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: 6–8 years of relevant engineering design experience in EPCM environments.
Licensure: Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC or APEGA.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, CSA Z662 is required; knowledge of Materials Engineering is an asset.
Experience with turbine compression systems is considered an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Demonstrated success in a mechanical design engineering role, preferably in energy infrastructure or industrial projects.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients.
Experience working on small to large-scale projects and within phase-gated project delivery frameworks.
Understanding of Supply Chain Management and procurement processes is an asset.
Proficiency with tools such as:
