Location: Ray Lewis; 27 Jessica St, Hamilton, ON L8W 4A1
Schedule: Monday to Friday between 7:00am to 6:00pm shifts
Pay Rate (includes wage grants):
- RECE: $26.96 per hour
- Non-RECE: $22.30 per hour

Who We’re Looking For
Experience:
- Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children, OR related
experience in a childcare setting, working with school-age children is
preferred but not required
Education:
- Diploma in a field related to childcare such as Early Childhood Education is
an advantage
- A Diploma in Child & Youth Worker, Child and Youth Care, OCT, Education
Assistant, Social Worker, or Recreation & Leisure may also be considered.
Certifications:
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (ECEs)
is preferred but not required
- Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Up-to-date immunization for TB, Tetanus, and MMR
Skills:
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen framework
is an asset.
Characteristics:
- Willingness to work in an on-call capacity with flexible scheduling
- Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per week, Monday to Friday, within
the 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM time frame.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, flexible
environment with minimal supervision
- Flexibility and adaptability to be assigned in multiple locations, with
minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to assigned childcare centres to support full- and part-time staff
- Establishing goals, planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally
appropriate activities to support children’s cognitive, physical, social, and
emotional growth in line with the How Does Learning Happen framework
- Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while
fostering professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School
