Primary Objectives:
Responsible for the Construction site cleaning as the project progresses. The successful individual will be reliable and detail-oriented; the Cleaner will ensure construction sites are clean, organized, and safe for workers, trades, and visitors. This role is critical in maintaining safety standards and supporting smooth site operations.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily cleaning of construction areas including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and debris removal.
Collect, sort, and dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with site procedures.
Assist with maintaining cleanliness of common areas such as site offices, washrooms, and entryways.
Remove construction materials, dust, and debris from floors, walls, and windows.
Ensure walkways, stairwells, and access points are free of hazards and obstructions.
Safely operate cleaning equipment and tools as required.
Support site safety by adhering to all health and safety protocols and reporting hazards.
Assist site staff and trades with general cleanup as required at different stages of construction.
· Previous experience in construction site or commercial cleaning preferred but not required.
· Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
· Familiarity with cleaning tools, equipment, and safe handling of cleaning products.
· Knowledge of construction site safety standards (WHMIS, PPE use).
· Reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Certifications/Licenses:
· Must have steel-toed boots and other required personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Ability to travel to and from various construction sites, within the greater Victoria area.
· WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).
WORK SCHEDULE:
The Cleaner works in accordance with the site schedule (generally Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm); full-time work and is required to be available on short notice in the best interest of the subordinates and/or construction clients outside of normal business hours on occasion. There are requirements to travel when appropriate to our other sites in the greater Victoria region, as well as working, on occasion, early morning or into the evening as needed.
