Day shift 8 hours a day (Monday-Friday) to start
This role performs operational work related to daily work instructions, inspection, treatment and materials. Operates the treating plant safely and proficiently.
Principal Responsibilities:
Operate and control systems by prescribed operating procedures, including, but not limited to the following major systems:
Boiler and pressure vessels, vacuum and condensate recovery systems, preservative mix, transfer and storage systems, hazardous and solid waste processing and storage, charge transfer tables and emergency response equipment
Perform all duties of machine operator treater as required
Operate all aspects of treating at or above target production levels
Participates and contributes to company safety program
Perform other related duties as assigned
Helps to maintain TRD audit preparedness
Assists Maintenance where necessary
Performs PMs, completes checksheets, and computer use as required
Qualifications:
Education: 4th Class Power Engineer preferred
Experience: One year treating experience preferred, must have experience working with chemicals
License/Certification: PIE Certified or willing to obtain
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required plant safety orientation
Respiratory training and pass the medical exam and fit test (clean shaved face may be required)
Solid knowledge of all federal and provincial regulations related to the treating department
Solid knowledge of quality control standards related to the treating department
Solid knowledge of customer specifications
Solid knowledge on hazardous waste regulations
Performs other related duties as assigned
