As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the RN will apply their clinical expertise of pediatric disease processes and related complex medical conditions to provide comprehensive nursing care and follow-up to children ages 0-18. The RN is also responsible for facilitating clinic flow and assisting with the coordination of community services and supports.
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
Minimum of 5 years recent nursing experience in a tertiary pediatric centre
Sound knowledge of pediatric illnesses, symptoms and related interventions
Demonstration of clinical expertise in pediatric psychosocial assessments, pediatric growth and development, critical thinking and problem solving
Demonstration and knowledge in the role of community liaison and access to supports for the children and families
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and also collaborative with a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge, skill and ability to provide health teaching for pediatric patients and their families, specific to the needs of the clinic population
