What you'll do
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the successful candidate will
play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of the
firm’s financial operations.
- Compile financial statements and related notes.
- Prepare income statements and balance sheet analyses in Excel.
- Produce month-end and quarter-end financial reports, including
reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.
- Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Prepare payroll entries and reconciliations
- Prepare payroll filings
- Review and approve accounts payable entries.
- Apply cash receipts and communicate with clients as needed.
- Reconcile bank accounts and liaise with banking partners as required.
- Prepare partner-related reports.
- Act as super-user for accounting software platforms (e.g., Caseware, Business
Central, STAR).
- Review and approve expense reports for staff and partners as needed.
- Prepare monthly and annual reports, along with various ad-hoc financial
analyses.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- CPA designation considered a strong asset.
- Experience with payroll
- 5–6 years of experience in a similar role (ideally in accounting or
professional services).
- Bilingual (French and English, spoken and written).
- Deep understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial
reporting standards.
- Proficiency with financial software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft
Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify
process improvements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with
vendors, clients, and team members.
