JOB SUMMARY
As a Maintenance Helper, you will assist our skilled trades teams with a variety of tasks including general repairs, painting, upkeep across the resort, and with the ongoing development of new projects. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors in a mountain environment while gaining experience in multiple different areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers) with routine maintenance and repair tasks across resort facilities
Inspection, repairs, installations, modifications, rebuilds, construction and maintenance of all infrastructures including the Water Treatment Plant, Sewer and Plumbing systems, all buildings and all ski lift ramps, and all restaurant equipment
Assisting with the construction and renovation of all structures from ground excavation to finishing work
Maintaining the fire system including all buildings and portable equipment
Ongoing upkeep and maintenance of existing buildings and structures
Perform general painting, staining, and surface preparation for buildings, fences, and equipment
Support with seasonal setup and takedown of ski hill infrastructure (e.g., signage, fencing, lift components)
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery under supervision
Perform routine inspections and report any safety hazards or equipment issues
Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
Collaborate with other departments to support special projects and events
All other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the Manager, Facilities Maintenance and does not require any direct supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
Successful completion of secondary school
General construction safety knowledge preferred
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools preferred
Minimum of 1 year related experience an asset
Willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions
Good communication skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable and able to work well with others in a team environment
Willing and able to work shift work, including weekends
Ability to operate equipment
Ability to work at heights
Ability to work under pressure
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

$23.35/hour
