SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to manage Avionics operations across Canada;
- Lead /manage the installation, integration, and testing of avionics systems,
ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements;
- Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work
standards for Avionics department;
- Provide mentorship and direction to avionics technicians, supporting their
development through training, performance feedback and technical guidance;
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with other departments,
Customers and external agencies, within the allocated location, to develop
strategic business opportunities aligned with the Company scope;
- Conduct quality checks on projects, and perform SMS report and/or
investigation if required;
- Co-ordinate and lead the timely submission of information, quotations and
proposals to customers and managed clients; review project work orders and
invoices for accuracy;
- Ensure proactive follow-up on quotes/proposals in order to secure the
contract and/or purchase order and maintain accurate records of all customer
contacts, communications and reports;
- Perform quality checks on projects, prepare SMS report and conduct
investigation if required;
- Manage/ lead any avionics modification/ upgrade to ensure projects are led on
time and profitability targets are met;
- Ensure prompt response and resolution of Customers and Avionics team issues;
- Act as a liaison across all departments to ensure that functional objectives
are achieved for production, procurement, quality control, logistics, and
administrative functions are met with invoicing;
- Ensure accurate material and labor requirements are quoted for all avionics
tasks, upgrades and system installations; plan and direct activities to
generate ongoing avionics revenue; participate in weekly meetings;
- Assess the organizational climate to foster a productive, progressive, and
collaborative work environment; partner with the Management Team to design
and implement effective management systems and principles that promote
individual, team, and organizational excellence;
- Recommend appropriate staff; to provide guidance on quoting and proposal
development procedures; lead and support employees in conducing aircraft
surveys for Avionics upgrgrade quotations;
- Perform any other activities as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Avionics production support
- Experience with a high degree of proficiency in development of Canadian
Engineering for Transport Canada Approval, SSTC, STC, SB’s, AD’s;
- Solid knowledge and proven experience working with Engineering Companies
and/or teams forAvionics modification with Structural associated upgrades;
- Certified experience with all avionics OEM Products and/or systems; Rockwell
Collins, Universal Avionics, Honeywell, Garmin, L-3 Communications, GoGo,
etc.;
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced working
environment and possess excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to produce high quality work both individually and within a team;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
- Strong communication and leadership skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; established network within the Aviation
industry;
- Occasional travel required.
EDUCATION:
- Graduate of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Program; minimum;
- Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AME); Category
E
