Position Summary
We’re hiring a dependable, hard-working individual for a hybrid role supporting both the equipment technician and winter operations at our golf course. This is a hands-on position that involves working outdoors, conducting winter operations such as snow removal and assisting the equipment technician/mechanic in the maintenance shop.
Ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, has an interest in turf equipment, and wants to learn the ins and outs of maintaining a championship-level golf course.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the equipment technician with basic maintenance and repairs.
- Clean and inspect mowers, utility carts, and other turf equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Keep the maintenance facility clean and organized.
- Assist with tool management and part runs as needed.
- Perform snow and ice removal from walkways, driveways, parking lots, stairs, entrances, and other designated areas using hand tools and equipment (shovels, snow blowers, plows, salt spreaders, etc.).
- Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials as directed to maintain safe walking and driving conditions.
- Conduct pre and post-shift inspections of equipment, reporting any maintenance needs or damages.
Skills, Abilities, Attributes:
- Ability to work early mornings.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to operate snow removal equipment safely (training provided if necessary).
- Physically fit with the ability to lift, bend, shovel, and work outdoors for extended periods in cold weather.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts depending on weather.
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
Education & Experience:
- Previous experience in snow removal or outdoor maintenance an asset but not required.
- Familiarity with small engines or turf equipment.
- Interest in equipment maintenance and basic mechanical tasks.
- Valid driver’s license required.
