Job Description and Responsibilities Controlling all incoming and outgoing traffic and ensuring that all customers wear the required PPE while in the yard. Inspecting all loads and materials in accordance with company guidelines. Ensuring safe interactions between customers and company equipment. Maintain constant and clear communication with the office and operators controlling traffic in and out of the unloading area Ensure safe interaction with customers and company heavy equipment by maintaining a safe distance Direct customers to appropriate unloading areas Check every load and report findings promptly to the office, and record noncompliance on the inspection form Ensure cleanliness around the shredder unloading area Call fair and consistent deductions Requirements No experience necessary but previous work experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar scrapyard/auto part environment will be considered an asset Able to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, moderate to heavy lifting and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds throughout the day Willing and able to work in variable weather conditions, including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions Willing and able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in dust, odors, fumes, and noise Customer focus: Take responsibility for developing excellent customer service, making sure that all customer interactions are handled professionally and expeditiously Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, and over mobile radio devices Team Player: Establish trust with team members, stating clear expectations, and recognizes group morale and acts to protect and/or build as required Shift is Monday to Friday during the day. May include some weekends Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as the work site is not accessible by city transit Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent Our total compensation package includes amazing benefits!
