Job Summary
Under the direction of the Health Services Manager, the Registered Nurse with Additional Authorized Practice [RN(AAP)] will be responsible for providing nursing services including the diagnoses and treatment of limited common medical disorders according to the Clinical Decision Tools (CDT) and in conjunction with their clinical knowledge and judgment; in compliance with the RN with Additional Authorized Practice (RN AAP) Practice Standards and with Saskatchewan Health Authority policies and procedures.
Experience
One year experience working in an Emergency Room is required
Two (2) years related experience
Emergency nursing experience and the utilization of electronic medical records are required.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
An Registered Nurse AAP in good standing in the general practice category who has successfully completed additional approved or recognized nursing education courses or successfully completed a prior learning assessment; and completed an application for authorized practice;
Licenses
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale certificate (CTAS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) as a RN(AAP).
▪ Must possess a valid driver’s licence and have a vehicle available for work.
▪ Currently ACLS certified.
▪ Certification in CTAS and PALS will be required upon hire if not currently certified.
Knowledge and Abilities
Demonstrates knowledge of the limited common medical disorders according to CDTs
Ability to diagnose/treat common medical under RN AAP Practice Standards.
Current clinical knowledge and skill are required in a broad range of areas.
Ability to prescribe and dispense drugs as appropriate.
Ability to order, perform and interpret reports and diagnostic tests.
Ability to perform minor surgical and invasive procedures as appropriate.

Possession of a personal vehicle suitable for use in the performance of duties
Registered/Eligible for registration with CRNS as an RN(AAP)
