1st year apprentices through to Journeypersons needed with either residential
experience or multi-unit walk-up condominiums experience.
Location: Edmonton and surrounding area
STARTING RATES $20.00 - $40.00/hour PLUS HOLIDAY PAY

Requirements
- All levels! Seeking 1st to 4th year apprentices to Journeypersons, including
Journeypersons with Project Management Skills.
- Previous experience in multi-unit walk-up 3-6 story condominiums is
preferred.
- High school Diploma, or equivalent.
- Prior experience in HVAC installation and repairs.
- Prior experience in the Home Building industry is preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull
objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, as the HVAC Installer/Sheet Metal Worker you will
provide HVAC related assistance through all stages of the building process. As
an apprentice, you will provide assistance to the to the HVAC Journeyperson. As
a Journeyperson you will mentor, develop and provide guidance to HVAC
Apprentices. Together, you are responsible for installing, maintaining,
repairing, and overhauling residential refrigeration and air conditioning
systems and their component parts in residential properties. Project management
opportunities for those with drive!
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing project documents with Sales team clarifying any inquiries relative
to designs and specifications. Conducting project site reviews prior to
commencing work.
- Installing and servicing various residential HVAC equipment and performing
duct work as required. Ensuring projects are completed efficiently and meet
quality standard.
- Working safely and complying with Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant
safety regulations.
- Supporting and providing guidance to other team members as necessary.
Working Conditions
You primarily work on job sites during regular business hours (Monday to
Friday), dispatched from the Star Mechanical location at 13835 164 St NW,
Edmonton. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational
hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Physical work pace
and/or exertion brings on a limited amount of physical fatigue. We offer the
opportunity to work additional hours.
