Under the supervision of the Head of Innovation and Product Development, the Product Innovation and Development Specialist plans, coordinates, and participates in activities related to innovation, development, and refinement of new products and processes. While adhering to established timelines, they efficiently and leanly carry out cost-reduction projects, provide technical support to plants, and lead innovation and new product development initiatives, with the goal of launching innovative products at competitive costs. How Agropur invests in YOU: 50% remote work flexibility Flexible group insurance plan including telemedicine services Employee assistance program Opportunities to invest in yourself (career development, etc.) Salary range 005: $82,600 to $103,200 (Base salary will be determined based on academic background, experience, training, and job-related skills) What’s involved in this role: The Product Innovation and Development Specialist is responsible for: Analyzing data, developing experimental protocols, and creating products while following established procedures and processes Planning, organizing, and conducting lab and pilot plant trials, adapting development to various manufacturing processes Calculating recipe costs, preparing and submitting technical information as required Overseeing the implementation of products at industrial scale through to commercialization, across internal and external production sites (co-manufacturers) Formulating new and existing products in their category to meet the company’s financial objectives, staying alert to ingredient price fluctuations and identifying profitable opportunities Collaborating closely with R&D lab technologists and internal colleagues, acting as a technical expert for Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and Strategic Purchasing Working with Regulatory, Quality teams, and external suppliers of goods and services Conducting market reviews and SWOT analyses for their product category, monitoring market trends aligned with strategic goals Planning, organizing, and executing sensory evaluation sessions, and actively participating in company innovation activities (Innoday) Identifying and assessing new technologies and processes that could enable key innovations Evaluating technical feasibility and making recommendations to management and relevant category teams What you need to join our team: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, or equivalent training 1 to 3 years of R&D experience in the food industry (dairy sector is an asset), project management, and especially in new product development Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, strong analytical thinking, and capacity to make recommendations Willingness to travel within Canada Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English (English required to work with colleagues in other Canadian provinces) We dairy you!
