PROFILE
We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Solution Architect with hands-on
development experience to join our team. In this role, you will architect,
design, build, deploy and enhance solutions on Microsoft Power Platform to
streamline business processes and deliver engaging user experiences. You will
use Power Platform to develop both canvas and model-driven apps, implement power
automate flows for business process automation, build copilot agents from
scratch or use pre-built ones, and integrate with internal and external APIs,
including Microsoft Graph. In addition, you will provide guidance on platform
administration ensuring environments, security, and governance align with best
practices.
This position can be based in any of our Canadian offices!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Architecture
- Design, develop, and manage the implementation solutions that improve
efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and clarify challenges or
opportunities to be addressed, determine requirements, map potential
solutions, and establish the path to move forward.
- Use your skills and experience to provide solutions that leverage the best
possible way Power Platform modules and technologies.
- Provide guidance to the Power Platform development team.
- Provide guidance to the Power Platform administration team.
Development
- Design and build canvas apps for user-friendly, task-oriented scenarios.
- Develop model-driven apps leveraging Dataverse, custom tables, views, forms,
and business process flows.
- Build agents from scratch or use pre-built ones, and publish them to various
channels like Teams, websites, or mobile apps.
- Configure reusable components, responsive layouts, and role-based access.
Process Automation
- Build and optimize Power Automate flows (cloud and desktop) for approvals,
notifications, integrations, and complex workflows.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve automation performance and reliability.
Integration & APIs
- Connect Power Platform solutions to internal systems, third-party APIs, and
services.
- Develop flows and apps using Microsoft Graph API for Microsoft 365
integration (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.).
- Implement custom connectors where needed.
Platform Administration
- Guide environment management in the Power Platform Admin Center
(provisioning, security, capacity monitoring).
- Assist with DLP policies, roles, and permissions to ensure compliance.
- Contribute to governance standards and Center of Excellence (CoE) practices.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with business stakeholders to capture requirements and translate them
into scalable solutions.
- Mentor developers and contribute to coding standards and best practices.
- Document solutions, processes, and technical decisions for support and
reusability.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Experience in solutioning business problems using Power Platform.
- 4–6+ years of experience in application development, with at least 3+ years
in Microsoft Power Platform.
- Strong track record developing both canvas and model-driven apps.
- Experience building cloud flows and RPA with Power Automate.
- Good understanding of Copilot Studio and how to build custom agents.
- Proficiency in API integration and hands-on experience with Microsoft Graph
API.
- Familiarity with Power Platform Admin Center, including environment and
security management.
- Knowledge of ALM practices in Power Platform (Solutions, GitHub/Azure DevOps
pipelines).
- Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
- Innovative and creative thinking.
- Ability to instill confidence and build solid relationships.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Preferred
- Experience with Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus) for
advanced integration.
- Relevant Microsoft certification(s)
- Exposure to Power BI and embedding dashboards into apps.
Gowling WLG employees benefit from a hybrid work environment.
The starting range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000. Starting salary will
be determined based on an applicant’s individual skills, competencies and unique
qualifications. Gowling WLG employees have the potential to exceed this range
based on tenure and performance.
