We are actively seeking Summer Student, Plant Operators to join our facilities located within 50km of North Battleford, SK. Reporting to the Steam Chief Operator, the summer students will be responsible for ensuring the area they are assigned is managed withing the design expectations with a high attention to the safety of the personal and equipment. The individual must be highly motivated and able to work in a team environment. The Student Plant Operator positions will begin May 2026 and will be available for a 4-month term. Essential Functions: Responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned equipment. Set an example in safety leadership with Strathcona’s employees and contractors. Troubleshoot and work within the team to resolve process problems. Perform housekeeping, performance monitoring, and maintenance activities in the plant site. Understand and perform safety, environmental and regulatory responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lock out, emergency response, and implement safe working procedures. Qualifications Include: Currently enrolled in a second year of a Power Engineering program. Successful completion of all required exams and classwork. A strong understanding of plant processes used in SAGD facilities. 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate requiring steam hours to complete 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate. Power Engineering Certificate must be licensed in Saskatchewan. Previous relevant experience is considered an asset. Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license. Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Self-motivated, open-minded and results orientated. Able to interpret facility drawings (i.e. PID’s, H&M Balance sheets, line lists, and shutdown keys).
