Centre-Based Group Programs
Centre-based year-round programs provide families with respite care whenever they need it, including PD days, after school, evenings or weekends. Our centre-based programs support the needs of participants, providing opportunities for fun, inclusiveness, and independence. Participants engage with the community and make friendships by participating in these thoughtfully designed and goal-oriented programs.
- Community Connect provides adults ages 20+ individualized, person-centered programming, focused on personal strengths, interests, and desires. People build confidence and connection with community through meaningful and purposeful activities, volunteerism, and employment opportunities.
- Hearts In Action (HIA) provides programming year-round and during summer months for children 3+ and adults. Programming provides fun and meaningful activities that support the growth of real relationships and belonging.
- Out of School Care (OS) and High School Transition (HST) - The OS program is designed for children aged 12 to 17, who require a little extra support after school and are no longer able to access a daycare. Children under the age of 12 are accepted on an individual basis. High School Transition supports individuals 18+ who are continuing their high school education. Participants will begin to explore independence through experiential learning opportunities.
- Weekend Respite provides individuals age 3+ with high-quality care in a safe, supportive, and fun environment, while parents run errands, take an essential break, or enjoy coffee with a friend.
Remote Support
The Remote Support Program is designed for those 18 years and older, to assist adults with disabilities to flourish in their daily lives as they work toward independence. As an online moderator, you will work in communication platforms (i.e. Discord, Zoom, Teams) to control communication flow, manage and promote positive engagement, as well as address violations to rules and policies of participants.

Administration/Office
Volunteer at the AdaptAbilities Support Office for the Fund Development team! Do hand printed letters providing thanks and impact information to donors. Make phone calls to thank donors and wish them well (e.g., Happy Thanksgiving; Happy Holidays) - you won't be asking anyone for money.
Events
Volunteer at AdaptAbilities events! You can support us at our Home Fundraisers by assisting with set up and clean up - and by greeting guests and helping everyone to feel comfortable. Our big annual event is the Annual AdaptAbilities Breakfast - held in May or June. There are various ways to volunteer: invite guests and host them at a table, find companies who might be interested in sponsoring the event, or assist at the event itself - set up the evening before, assist with registration in the morning, and/or assist with clean up after the event. Make a difference and have fun at the same time!
If you’re ready to make a difference and contribute to our mission, we encourage you to apply! We look forward to welcoming you to the AdaptAbilities volunteer team!
Please Note: We’re always looking for volunteers, and even if we don’t have current opportunities when you apply, we will keep your information on file for when we do!
AdaptAbilities is an equal opportunity employer who is committed to diversity in the workplace and welcomes applications from all volunteers.
