Document Scanning Clerk
Seeking an Imaging Technician with administrative experience in the insurance industry to manage high-volume mail sorting and digital scanning. This on-site role in Montréal involves critical attention to detail, document classification, workflow monitoring, and maintaining confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.
What is in it for you:
• Hourly salary of $16.41.
• 3-month contract.
• Full-time position: 37.50 hours per week.
• On-site position, weekdays.
• Work hours scheduled between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
• Open, prepare, and sort all incoming mail for digital imaging and processing.
• Analyze and classify document content to route to the appropriate business unit or workflow.
• Scan documents using high-speed imaging equipment.
• Monitor workflow queues and troubleshoot imaging issues reported by processing areas.
• Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality and document handling protocols.
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting using specific mail stream methodologies.
• Perform quality control to validate accuracy of scanned images.
• Operate office equipment and resolve minor hardware or software issues.
• Provide professional customer service and liaise with internal business units.
• Maintain consistent productivity levels and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
What you will need to succeed:
• Relevant administrative or clerical experience preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in administrative or clerical roles.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information securely.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of recognizing and categorizing various document types.
• Effective both independently and in team settings.
• Able to manage fluctuating volumes and shifting priorities.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Experience in mailing services (e.g., UPS, Canada Post) is an asset.
• Familiarity with AWD, CICS, Lotus Notes, IAS, Compass, or InfoDirect is a plus.
• Experience using office equipment and resolving minor technical issues.
• Bilingual in English and French is important to accurately process, classify, and communicate about documents received in both languages within a bilingual insurance environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
