Gore Mutual’s Personal Insurance Underwriting team is growing! We are looking to
add new team members to our National Operations Centre and set the stage for
continued growth and expansion. Our Underwriters deliver genuine personal
service to our brokers, listen carefully to understand their needs, and create
tailored solutions blending the needs of the customer with profitable
underwriting results.
This role requires some underwriting experience to apply critical thinking and
solution more complex underwriting risks and has great opportunity for growth
and development.
What will you do?

Provide best in class customer service to our broker community by supporting
them through various processes such as renewals, new business, and policy
change transactions for both auto and property business lines

Managing phone queues ensuring all relevant information is provided to
effectively support brokers through underwriting transaction including
submissions and risk analysis

Explain underwriting decisions to our broker partners ensuring that strong
broker relationships are maintained

Underwrite risks within assigned underwriting authority to drive
profitability

Manage work duties as assigned in a fast paced, results driven environment
ensuring department goals are met or exceeded
What will you need to succeed?

3 years of underwriting experience in personal insurance is required

CIP designation or working towards designation is preferred

Proficient computer skills with strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
programs

Excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong
relationships with stakeholders

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
-
Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
Please note that this role operates in a hybrid environment, with two days a
week expected in our Cambridge Ontario office.
