Position Summary
The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for the efficient inflow and outflow of product, minimizing damages and product loss, ensuring inventory accuracy, and coordinating shipments.
Essential Functions
Respond to incoming requests from the Sales, Service or Install Coordinators for parts and automated entrance systems (swing and sliding doors), creating purchase orders and sales orders, checking inventory availability, and coordinating shipping to customers.
Perform glazing of sliding door panels when needed (branch dependent).
Create item receipts when shipments arrive and issue vendor purchase orders when required
Respect effective inventory re-order points that align with overall branch needs
Participate in inventory cycle counts, bi-yearly physical counts and report quantity variances
Arrange products to maximize space utilization and organization.
Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts (only in some warehouse locations), power jacks and pallet jacks.
Load and unload packages to/from trucks manually or with mechanical assistance.
Receive and ship loads and packages using various courier services.
Package products using supplied packaging materials to minimize damage and loss accurately labeling boxes and attaching appropriate shipping documents.
Input, adjust, transfer, and maintain accurate inventory data in inventory management system (SAP) for assigned region.
Maintain warehouse in a neat and clean, and organized condition.
Pick products according to job specification for technician dispatch and complete required forms for product returns.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
SAP experience or demonstrated ability to learn complex inventory management systems
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Effective communication skills for interaction with team members, supervisors, and external contacts
Ability to read and understand measuring equipment such as tape measures, scales, decimals/fractions
Mechanical aptitude and ability to recommend alternative door components when unavailable
Knowledge of perpetual inventory management practices such as min-max, LIFO, and Kanban
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining positive vendor relationships
Dependable, responsible, and team-oriented approach.
Education, Training, Experience
3 - 5 years of warehouse and inventory control experience.
Completion of secondary school or relevant combination of education and experience.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 75lbs, following all applicable safe lifting techniques.
Indoor warehouse working environment, temperature regulated.
